12/31/24

Somehow we have made it the last day of the year. I’m so happy about that. I’m so glad it is coming to an end.
The winter is starting to get here, finally. Next week is going to be so cold. I will worry about that when it comes. However, Ronnie is going to get me some more straw for the pigs. Planning ahead. That’s good stuff.
We have had lots of visitors, community service kids, we had a successful walk. That has been good. The farm is doing well. The animals are doing well. I’m excited to see what happens next year.
And the cats were home where they should be on the last day of the year. Yay.

12/30/24

I got home to see the donkeys and goats just grazing away. It’s one of my favorite sights to see out here.

All the cats were home where they were supposed to be.

I might have given the donkeys and goats some feed. Shhh…don’t tell Ronnie. They need a little extra every once in a while.

The pigs were watching my every move today. I went behind the pen and they were confused.

Athena sure was in the pig pen this evening. I don’t know what she was doing. The pigs did not bother her at all.

Jasper was friendly today. I do love to see him looking happy.

I found Olga is a look alike to the late Lola. She might even have her attitude. Wouldn’t that be something?

The little goats were sharing food with Olga and Ernestine. That is sure nice of them.

The cats are ready for the cooler weather. They are staying in the shop. I am glad of that.

I got up close and personal with the horses. They sure are fun animals.

It was a dusty day with wind blowing, but so pretty.

The animals are all doing well.

I think we are all ready for a new year.

12/29/24

I went out to check on Maggie since she was not in the fence with the others. She was trying to get in the dog house to get away from the wind. I cannot say I blame her.

I worked on projects most of the day.

I got to see the cats this evening. They looked relaxed today.

Lester is still hanging out with the ladies in the donkey barn.

May is still here and going strong. I think she does so well because she stays in the sheep barn most of the time.
The animals are doing well.

Mattie was being mean to Jasper and had kicked at him a few times. Jasper raised his front paw at Mattie and Mattie backed off…interesting.

I got to love on Yeller. He is the sweetest.

I saw Pepper run today. I laughed so hard.

Ursula and Onyx were cuddled up together this evening. So cute. I’m glad they have each other.

12/28/24

We had some kids out today. They were having a bit of a rough day, but they sure to love being out on the farm. They make that obvious.

Our new friend who brought the shavings came out today also so learn more about what we do around here. He was able to give us some ideas and it truly does sound like we could help each other out with goals for each of our farms. That is exciting to me.

The cows got a new hay bale and they showed out for sure. It was hilarious.

Pete is still acting like his feet hurt or something. He has been laying down more.

The animals were watching the kids closely today. The whole thing just made my heart smile.

Most of the animals got new pine shavings in their shelters. That was the point of getting new shavings.

We did not get the horse barn done, but the next load we will be able to get that done, too.
Ronnie taught the kids to drive the tractor. We call that life skills around here. I think that might be Ronnie’s favorite part of the farm.

The horses, donkeys, and goats were all really wanting attention today. Everyone on the farm took turns giving them all attention.

The shop chickens all ran out of the shop today for some reason, but they all went back in.

Meridia was up in the tree again today.

Ernestine has always been a bully to other chickens, now she is being bullied by the other chickens.
