Ronnie was supposed to go to San Antonio this weekend for his Christmas Party, but I am grateful he did not go since I was so sick. I had scheduled some kids to come out to the farm and I could not cancel them. They had been waiting for a long time. These kids are special to us anyway. They have been here several times and they get so much out of being here and I knew from their mom they needed us and needed to be here. I wanted them to be here. That is why Mattie’s Mountain is here. So, they came out. My friend who helps on the farm came out, too. I did get out of bed and helped as much as I could with some projects. I was so weak and sore but I could not stay in bed any longer. I needed to be up and around. I know I did too much, but it was worth it to spend some time with the kids and watch their interactions with the animals. It is an amazing thing to watch. There are moments that make up for all the hard times and this day was one of those moments. It meant so much to me to see it and remember why we started this. I am glad my friend was here, too, to see how the transformation starts. It is indescribable. They will be back next weekend to get more community service hours. Those kids work hard here, but they love it here.
I got to see Tux today. I had not seen him in a long time. It was good to know he was still around here.
Olivia got to pet Alex which I do believe is her favorite animal on the farm.
Jasper did let me pet him and then he walked away from everything going on and looked like he was mad at the world. I think he was just not feeling well and wanted to be away from every one who was here. I am grateful he is not running away from us like he normally does after these vet visits.
I did not see Athena, but I saw the other cats today.
Maggie sure had a rough day with all the rainy weather today.
It was cold and rainy for sure today.
