Squirrel

I Saw the funniest squirrel at work. It was such a cute little thing standing up on the back feet looking in the door at work. I was not expecting to see that. It sure made me laugh and I needed that laugh. Take those laughs when you can.

Louie

Louie is growing so fast. He got out and went into the alley way. He is as big as the Nigerian dwarf goats we have, well, almost as big. I cannot believe he is that big already, but he is. Time sure does fly by in a hurry. Louie is such a joy to have on the farm. I am grateful he is here.

Beautiful Mornings

The mornings are beautiful. The sun has been a pink color and so unique to look at. It is just a beautiful start to the morning. It puts me in a good mood to see the animals in the morning and the beautiful sunrise. Thank God for another day.

Tina

Tina Has been looking a little rough lately. Her color is changing and I have a bad feeling her days are numbered. I have been leaving her more often in the goat pen during the day to stay by the fan if she will and then making sure I water her down later in the day. The goats seem to like to have her there with them.

Eggs

It never fails, when I go get eggs, I end up cracking one or two. I do not waste the eggs though, the chickens like to eat them. I know it is weird, but it does help with their calcium and protein. The hens will fight over them. It is funny to watch them.

Banana

I Have seen Banana more often. He looks rough and has been in all different places lately.  He is still not wanting to be friendly with me, but he is hanging out with the other cats. I am glad to know he is good with the other cats so he is not alone in the world.

The Oddest Trio

The Oddest Trio is still hanging out at night. Tina still goes in and stays with Prada and Louie at night. The goats look for her to come in the pen at night. They do seem to love each other. I love to watch their relationship bloom and them get closer. It is something to see. I would not have believed it if I had not seen it.

Sunflowers and Butterflies

We have had some sunflower look alikes which are actually wildflowers growing on the property. They have been so pretty. Here lately, I have seen several butterflies all around the flowers. It is just such a beautiful thing to watch. I have really enjoyed just standing around watching the butterflies.

Blister Beetle

I Ended up getting bitten by a blister beetle. Somehow I had been able to avoid that in the 5 years we have been here. Not this year, I got bit. Well, they hurt. I do not want to do that again. I got bitten twice and my arm swelled up and turned red. I used lots of Benadryl cream and ice packs and the redness finally went away, but gosh it took days and it was so painful. Those bugs are everywhere. I did not know they could fly either, but they sure can. I want to stay away from them for sure.

Friends

Tina and Craig became friends on the day Craig first got to the farm. They are still very close. The two of them eat together every morning and spend the days together. It is cute to watch the two of them. .They do seem to look for the other one if they do not see them other one, except when Tina is in with the goats. It is important to have friends close to you.

Ginger

Oh, Ginger. She has been flying up to the fencing when I am going through it. She makes me stop and enjoy the moment because sometimes we just need to do that. She also does it so she gets some attention. She has not forgotten what all I taught her when she was younger, but she is the only one who continues to want to be consistent with human contact.  She is a sweet chicken.

Rare Moments

I Caught a rare moment with Tinkerbelle and Bill sharing hay. I do wonder sometimes if they will ever be able to get along and actually be friends, but so far, that has not been the case. Tinkerbelle is a bully to Bill. I do hope one day that will stop. Some days I think she is trying to play and he just does not get that, but what do I know? At least in this rare moment the two of them were getting along and doing fine. I got to see that rare moment.

Funny Story

One of the funny stories we have on the farm that happens often, the chickens eat with the cats in the shop. I just find it funny to watch them all eating together. The cats will look at the chicken like what are you doing, but they just allow them to eat there without trying to run the chicken off. It is just funny to watch. The chicken will stare back like what you are you going to do about me eating right here. I just laugh.
