Sunny/Sonny

I have decided to name the cutest little chick Sunny or Sonny. I am still not sure if it’s a hen or a rooster yet. Sometimes it looks like roosters and other days a hen. I sure hope it’s a hen. That baby is so pretty and I have too many roosters already. I just want to pick it up and love on it but that momma hen is scary.

Something You Don’t See Everyday

I was walking out of a house from seeing a patient. I look to the left and I saw something you don’t see every day. I saw guineas running across the road. I had to stop and stare. My patient came back out of the house and said they were her guineas and they would come back later. I had no words. I just laughed.

Every Morning

Every morning, Athena either sits at the bottom of the pecan tree or is up in the tree. She has been doing this for at least a week now. I do not see anything in the tree that she would be after. It does not make any sense to me. She is something else. I just wish I knew what she was looking at or what she was trying to get.

Switched

The donkeys and cows for whatever reason decided to switch feed one day. I will never understand why they do the things they do. It’s so funny to watch them when they do silly things. I don’t understand why they would do that one day and then not the next. The donkeys always try to eat the cow feed and it drives Jasper nuts. Alex could care less as long as he gets fed.

Small Eggs

Small eggs can only mean one thing, the younger hens are laying eggs. I knew it had to be close to time for them to start laying eggs but then I started seeing the tiny eggs and I knew. I then witnessed one of the younger hens laying so then I definitely knew. Their eggs are half the size of a regular egg. They are so small. It won’t take long for the eggs to get bigger. Now I have to watch and see where they are laying the eggs.

Struggling

I’m struggling with this but I know I have to do something. I posted the roosters online for someone to take. I got a few comments, but they were all too far away to come get them. I’m relieved but at the same time, I’m still in the same situation. I have too many roosters for the number of hens I have. It’s not fair to any of them. The roosters will fight and the hens are beat up. It’s a bad deal around here when this happens which is why I try to find the eggs before we get to this point. It stinks.

Let’s Talk About Ursula

Ursula is the best. She may be living in the bathroom, but she is using the litter box like she is supposed to. She is not bothering anything. She is sleeping in her bed. She is eating her food with her meds in it. She even backs up and let’s me put medicine on her back. She will lick my nose. She gives hugs. She does not mess with anything she isn’t supposed to. She does not jump up on the cabinets. She is fantastic.
