October 4, 2025

The chicks make my mornings. They are so happy to be free, yet always put themselves back into the coop when the sun goes down. It is entertaining to watch.
I did get to see Athena and Onyx.
May was up and walking around with the other hens. That is a good sign.
I did go do a photo shoot for a friend of mine and her fiancĂ©. That was fun. We did make it to the country and there were vultures everywhere. That was freaky. It was a pretty property though. I also saw the moon which was starting to turn full. It was not there, but it was getting there.
The chicks had put themselves back into the coop when I got home. They are smarter than anyone gives them credit for. Safety is something we all want to have.

October 2, 2025

The chicks were exploring in the front yard this morning. They are so cute. I am glad they are getting around so well. As long as they stay out of the road, I am good.
All the cats were on the porch watching the chicks. Now that is something to see.
Jeb's wound is looking better. He seems to be fine.
One of the chicks did find her way to the back where the sheep are.
Ronnie was putting hay out into the horse pasture and Chief ran through to where the rest of the animals are. I had to get him back to where he was supposed to be. He finally made it back over there.
Pedro was by himself for whatever reason. His ears are staying to the side for whatever reason. I did see him try to run over a chick. He did not make it to her on time.
The chicks did make it back to the coop. I had to chase the one down that was back where the sheep are. She did make it back though. Home is a good place to be.
Oreo was not feeling well. He stayed in the same spot for hours without moving. I know he was not feeling well after that.

Athena was after something on top of the barn. I sometimes sit back and wonder what in the world those cats are doing. They definitely have minds of their own.
The chicks have found their way into the backyard. They are exploring further and further. I find it funny to watch them figuring things out.
I walked out of the house and there was a strange vehicle out there. I had no idea who it belonged to. I went to inspect, but that probably is never smart if you do not know what is going on. I texted Ronnie to see if he knew what was going on. I took a picture of the car in case I needed proof of something. Turns out, the guy delivering our hay left his jeep there for one reason or another. I may be watching to many CSI episodes. I might need to take a break from those. Better to always be prepared for anything in my book.
I got some cute pictures from my uncle today of my grandparents. I had sent my grandmother a squirrel house for her birthday. My uncle had installed the house, and the squirrel was looking at it. It made my day to see all of that.
I did get to see all the cats this afternoon. They are all leaving the chicks alone. I am pleasantly surprised and happy about it.
The donkeys were out exploring.
I did get to love on some chickens. I did not think they would let me love on them after letting them out, but I was wrong.
The pigs are being their normal selves. I sure do love them. They are all spoiled rotten.
The cows are doing okay. I was checking on Jasper, and he wanted nothing to do with me. He goes through those phases.
The horses were acting like they were getting along today. Jeb has been doing better lately with not chasing the horses around. We will see how long that continues.
The goats were fighting over food this afternoon.
The chicks have learned where they can get dirt baths.
The dogs really wanted to get into the house.
The evening was beautiful. I did see a strange light in the sky. I was interested in what that was, so I took a picture to remind myself to do some research. Turns out it was a weather balloon. That is cool to see.
The chicks are cracking me up. They find their way back into the coop every night to sleep. I do shut them in to make sure they are safe.

October 3, 2025

It was such a beautiful morning.
The chicks were far into the front yard. I tell you; they are so adventurous little creatures.
I went to get a pumpkin to see if the chickens would carve it for me if I used a zester to get the peel off of it. That should be interesting.
The cats were doing fine. I thought Athena and Yeller were going to fight, but they calmed down.
The chicks always have water, but they surround the water trough when I put the fresh water in there every day. They are so funny.
Gidget still loves me. That is good to know. I was able to cuddle with her. She did stay up on my shoulder for a long period of time.
There were a few of the chicks in the back again. They are just exploring everywhere. We should all do some exploring in our lifetime; there are so many beautiful things to see in this world.
Ted is starting to act like he does not feel well. He was pretending to eat. I am going to have to watch him closely. I figure it is the full moon coming and weather change, but who knows at this point.
Oero looked so worn out. She was in a dramatic pose for some reason. I woke her up and she was not happy about that. She will get over it.
The sunset was sure pretty tonight. It made it better the goats and the donkeys were out there, too.
The chicks did all make it back.
