11/26/24

The cats were all home when I got home tonight. That’s always a win.

Chief came over and let me pet him. That does not happen often.

Things are weird without Jasper here. The donkeys ate the cow feed and Alex and the chickens ate the donkey feed.

The dogs were doing their normal thing. It’s colder out so I cannot say they are loving being outside, even for a few minutes which is what they do.

Ronnie is always telling me to not worry about the cats and them not being able to get to water. I saw Athena drinking out of the cow trough.

The pigs are doing their normal thing. I did put the straw back in their shelters they had thrown out and put a sunshade back up for them.

The donkeys and goats were out in the pasture. I wish they would get in that barn when I’m hearing coyotes closely.

Willow and Mattie were trying to irritate Spam, but this time she didn’t let them. The whole thing must have lost its luster.

Alex is super depressed. I have to say, I don’t blame him and I get it.

I went back to check on the lock on the pig pen. I was glad to see their solar lights are working.

Ronnie took me by to see Jasper. He has to stay another night. My poor baby is not happy. He looks stressed. He has some stitches and packing in the wound. I feel so bad for him. He is mad, but I got to pet on him. I sure love him and I am praying he will be okay.

11/25/24

I got up to help Ronnie get Jasper and Alex in the trailer for the vet. Well, things did not go as planned. We all know that happens. All the animals were upset at the sight of the trailer. Each one of them knows what that is and wants no part in it. Jasper did get in the trailer, Alex did not. Jasper was the one that needed to go anyway, so Alex was left behind. Those two do not like being separated and it always breaks my heart when they start mooing at each other. Jasper’s moo sounded so weak. I know he is sick. I’m praying he will be okay.

Alex is lost without Jasper. Jasper was not able to come home tonight due to the vet wanting to keep an eye on him. He does have an abscess and a nasty infection. We will see what else we find out tomorrow.

All the cats were home this evening. One less thing to stress over for sure.

The donkeys were up by the house, so I gave them all some feed which we normally do not do. Since it is getting colder, I felt they needed it.

You can tell a hen who is cold. They fluff up as big as they can to hold in the heat.

The chickens are coming to get feed. I know they have to be cold. The food will keep them warmer.

I found more hidden eggs today. They were in the goat shelter. That’s funny to me.

Athena got up on the trailer and then when trying to come down, she fell, and did not land on her feet. Poor girl, but she is fine.

I got to see some rainbow clouds tonight. Those have a special meaning to me.

The pigs are all fine.

The donkeys are keeping Alex occupied without Jasper. I am happy about that.

The sky was interesting tonight. I do not know what is happening lately. It looks like a bunch of planes flying over, but who knows.

Noma came over to me with Mattie. That’s a huge deal.
The other animals were doing fine today.

11/24/24

I made one last quilt today. Ursula would not leave it or me alone, just like Persia used to.

Yeller was in the backyard with the dogs this afternoon.

The horses looked like they were having a pow wow.

Takua was giving Mattie the go away stare. Those horses really do not care for the donkeys.

Onyx was on the back porch with the dogs this afternoon.

The chickens came out to eat. I’m not sure why they stopped in the first place. Maybe because they had other options and now they don’t with the weather getting colder now.

Noma let me get close, but not for long.

The pigs were doing fine.

Ann, the hen, does not look too good. She needs outside in the sun, but refuses to go out there. She is very pale.

Takua and Jeb were arguing. Jeb ended up on the ground. That’s a new one for me. He got right back up.

The other animals were all doing fine.

Ronnie and I got the cows in the pen today so they could go to the vet tomorrow. This will be interesting.

The donkeys and goats were exploring in the sunset.

The cows do not seem to like being in the pen. That looked pitiful.

There was a hawk over head flying. I think that hawk is taking our chickens. It makes me sad.

I was upset going in for the night. I had not seen Athena. As I was sitting on the couch, she came to the back window to say hi. That made me feel better that all the cats were ok.

Oreo and Ursula were cute staying warm together since we have not turned on the heat yet in the house.
