11/2/24

I got up this morning to feed, the cats were all at home waiting on me to feed them. I was so tired I slept late, so they were not real happy. They ate right then.

For some reason, the female goats do not eat much hay when Ronnie gives them hay, but they started eating the hay right away when I gave it to them.

Mattie gladly ate what I dropped. He is an opportunist for sure.

The sheep were happy about their hay. I have been feeding them more hay since Bill had been sick, but he is better.

I threw the hay into the little goat’s shelter in case of rain. I know it was supposed to rain.

Onyx was being so playful with the goat’s sunshade. She was climbing up that sunshade. She makes me laugh.

I know it is going to rain some time today. The goats were all laying down around the chicken coop this morning.

I saw something very interesting this morning. There were a bunch of cardinals up on the fence. It was a sight. They were all female cardinals sitting there and they looked young. It was such a beautiful sight to see.

The horses were all out in the pasture looking at something. I wish I knew what they were looking at. It definitely looked like rain, too.

I ran outside with the dogs to feed them between rain shower. That is hard with two dogs who do not get around fast for anything, but we made it.

The cats were hunkering down for the weather to change.

The weather looked scary.

The pasture goats were getting themselves in the barn for safety. I am glad they are so smart.

Rena and Annabeth were already in the dog crate in the hay waiting for the weather to come in. They came out to eat when I brought them food.

I feed the goats and sheep more hay and put it all in their shelters so they could eat while it rained.

Yeller looked like he was going to stay in the shop for a while. He did not stay, but he started out there.

I hurried through feeding the cows, donkeys, and horses, too. The weather was coming in quickly.

For some reason, the donkeys got behind a gate which was closed. They are smart, so I am not sure why they just stayed behind the gate. They could have gone around to the way they got in, but they did not do that.

I hurried through feeding the pigs also. I did not want to be caught out in the weather. I wanted the animals to be able to get in their shelters before the rain hit.

The cats ended up getting on and behind the hay to stay warm during the storm.

I went out into the pasture to open the gate for the donkeys. They did follow me back toward their barn. They stayed out in the pasture with the thunder and lightning until it started raining.

Noma went to the little shelter to stay out of the rain. The horses finished eating and headed to the barn. The cows continued to eat without a care in the world.

The clouds were sure rolling in fast. The rain started coming down hard and fast. There was flooding in areas after 10 minutes. It was crazy.

I checked on the cats when I let the dogs out for the last time. They were all headed into the shop.

The lighting and thunder and rain lasted most of the night.
