April 26, 2025

I swear this year has not been fun with the illnesses. I am not feeling well again. At least it is the weekend and I can relax. Ronnie had been home last night and was able to feed this morning. I am so grateful. I did not even see him. I was asleep before he came home and still asleep when he left this morning. I feel bad about that, but I needed the sleep.
I went out and saw the cats first thing. They were all outside around the house. I am glad since the wind is outrageous and it looks like it could storm at any moment.
The donkeys and goats were really looking like they wanted something today. I ended up giving them some extra feed. They loved it.
I did get to see the cats this afternoon also.
The pigs were all doing well. They usually are. They are the best.
The horses are all doing well. They were waiting by the fence and behaving. That is not normal.
Hercules has been laying down more. I hope he is okay. He did get up for me, so I am sure it has to do with the crazy weather.
Jeb is shedding all his winter hair. He is such a beautiful horse.

I have been seeing for weeks about a smiley face in the sky on this date for this morning. I actually go up and went outside to see the smiley face. I am not a morning person, but I wanted to see it. Well, I was greeted with nothing but clouds in the sky. I could not see any of it. Luckily Ronnie sent me a picture. It's funny because he really did not know what he was looking for, but it got it. The one star was very faint and extremely hard to see in the photo, but I was grateful he was able to see it.
The cats were all home this morning. If they are not home in the morning, that is usually when there is a problem, so I am always happy to see them at home. The cats all came in to eat together.
What a morning on the farm. The horses, goats, donkeys, and cows could all be seen in the same photo. It was like they were all in the same area for some reason. It was nice to see. I know I took too many pictures of it.
Athena was showing off. She was up on the hay bale while Alex was eating. That is so funny to me. Alex was not bothered by it. He probably did not even know it.
I did slip Mattie and Willow a handful of hay. They acted like they needed it for some reason, so I gave it to them.
I did get to see the cats as soon as I got home. They all seemed to be relaxed and enjoying the cooler breeze.
It looked like one of the chickens was trying to dig in the coop to be with the other hens in there. They were all digging. It was funny to see that. I wasn't sure if one was digging in and the other two were helping or if they were trying to dig out as the other one helped.
I sure attempted to get some peroxide on Jasper's wound. That ended up being a bit of a rodeo. I was chasing and he continued to run. I got just a tiny bit on the wound. Now he won't have anything to do with me.
Pedro was jealous of the pigs getting some feed. He was watching them very closely.
The goats and donkeys are taking advantage of the green grass we have at the moment. I hope we have plenty of green grass for them, but I know it will dry up soon.
It did look like it might storm today. The clouds were so pretty.

April 24, 2025

I got up early to go feed and the cats were waiting on me. They are spoiled if you did not already know that.
Willow was trying to get some of the hay I gave to the sheep and goats. She is something else.
A funny story here. When Ronnie went out of town last week, he told me to be careful going down to the pig pen because he thought he saw a small animal down there when he was feeding. I did think I saw it this next morning, but did not go check it out. This morning as I was walking down to the pig pen, I thought I saw an animal out there. The closer I got, the bigger it got. It looked like it had long, pointy ears like a cat. Well, our minds can trick us into thinking things that are not there at all. When I got to the fence, it was a feed bucket. I could not believe my eyes. At least I was not scared. The pigs were unfazed at my ridiculousness, too.
The clouds sure were rolling in today. The animals seemed all content this morning.
The donkeys were literally eating bark off the tree. I knew donkeys did that, but I had not seen them do that. I cannot say that anymore.
I saw all the cats as soon as I got home from work, so I did not have to search for them.
Ursula got out somehow as I was unloading my car. She met up with Onyx and Athena. Onyx seemed okay with her, Athena did not. I put her back in the house. I wish I knew what it was she wanted.
The donkeys and goats came back in from being in the pasture. It is so interesting to me how they all come in a straight line. One of the donkeys was the leader, but I was too far away to tell which one it was.
Jeb was a frisky mess with the weather changing. He was full of energy and just wanted to run. I did not want to get in the pasture with them today just because of how playful he was.
I am guessing today was a good day for Jasper with Mattie. They allowed him to eat with them. That hardly ever happens anymore. They usually fight over the food.
Jasper's abscess looks like is opening up. He will not let me near it either, so he knows it.
I saw a heart in the sky with the clouds rolling in. It was such a sight with the donkeys and goats underneath it. I do think this place is loved. I have seen several heart clouds over the animals since we have had animals, but each one is special to me.
