February 28, 2025

Today has not been the best day. There have been several things happen today that is just not good. It has put me in a funk. I know things will all work out, but some days are just hard. We all have them. It’s what we do with those bad days that matter though.
Ursula ran out of the house twice. She never ever does that. Silly cat. She may think she wants outside, but she doesn’t. At least I don’t think she does.
I got to see all my outside cats. I didn’t have to look too hard for them tonight.
We did have feed delivered today and whoever delivered it and put it up did not keep the doors cracked and those shop chickens were mad about it. I opened the doors and they came inside but then went back outside. It’s a nice day.
Jeb let me love on him. I needed that. The sheep did also. I needed that.
I noticed Fred has lost a spur. How I noticed that, I’m not really sure.
The planets were aligned tonight. I couldn’t get a full picture but it was a pretty sight.

The cats were out and about. The air was cooler than it has been in a few days. Yeller was on the back porch sunning when I got home from work.
The goats and donkeys were out at the back of the property, so they were interested in the pigs. The pigs pay no attention to them. I gave them some attention though.
Mattie was so funny bobbing and weaving in a shelter to whatever was going on in his head. I just laughed. The big thing I’m happy about is he is happy.
Pete allowed me to love on him. It has taken so long to get him to trust us, but he is getting there. It is a work in progress with him. Life is always a work in progress. Trust is, too.
Jeb was sure feisty today because of the cooler weather. That’s normal for him.
I think Athena has found a spot she likes in the sheep pen. I think that’s cute.
Onyx was hanging out with the dogs in the backyard and in the sun. That cat goes all over the place.

I did get to see the cats. I am telling you, I look for them to make sure they are okay.
Fred was hiding in the doghouse for some reason.
The little goats were relaxing in the sunshine.
I got to see a couple of rainbow clouds today. I look for those. They make me feel like God is listening to me in my times of need.
I did hand feed Lucky, Carlos, and Pedro today with chicken feed. I do not normally do that, but sometimes I do spoil them. Who am I kidding, they are always spoiled. Or as my grandma says, well loved.
I saw Fred had string wrapped around his foot, so I chased him around until I caught him and got it off. He finally realized I was trying to help and stopped fighting me.
The pigs are all doing good.
It sure was a beautiful sunset.

Noma was laying down early this morning. The little goats were trying to get attention from Mattie and Willow. Jeb was also laying down enjoying the sunshine.
One of the animals had turned on the water faucet outside and part of the yard had started to flood. What a mess.
I did get to see all the cats. I was happy to see them. I did notice a funny thing. The shop chickens do eat the cat food, but they will not eat the green morsels of food. That was all that was left for the cats. I wonder what the green morsels taste like to them. I guess we all can be picky in life if we want to be just like those chickens.
Poor Lester looked like he did end up with some frost bite from the cold. It does happen, but I hate it.
Sonny boy came over and ran Lester off. He’s a jerk. Lester is the most docile rooster we have, so the other two have it out for him.
We have not lost anymore chickens, thank goodness. They did come out to eat this evening.
The donkeys were all surroundings Ronnie while he was watering the pigs. That was a sight to see. I guess they were interested in what he was doing.
Cinderella was so happy for food, she fainted. She does not fall over anymore. her muscles seize up and keep her in the one spot unable to move for a few seconds.
I saw a black widow today. I hate to see them, but we have them all over our property. I mean, we are in West Texas.
One of the hens either laid an egg in a weird spot or one got kicked and broken in the sheep pen. Snowflake was eating what was left of that egg.
The horses are doing well.
Jasper was desperate to get to the donkey feed, but Mattie was kicking at him. Jasper kept looking at me to step in, but I do not want any part of that.
That Athena amazes me. She can fit through the smallest opening to get where she wants to go.
It looked like the cats were getting along today which is rare for some reason lately.
