I got home late. I am grateful Ronnie was home already dealing with the water situation for the animals. That is the hardest part in the cold weather. It was a beautiful evening regardless of the cold.
Well, the hens have made a liar out of me. Normally they do not lay eggs in the cold, but they laid a dozen today. Who would have thought?
The cats were all home, but in and out of the shop.
The donkeys and goats gave me some attention and then stole the chicken feed. Go figure. That’s every day.
It’s so cold outside the eggs are frozen and cracking. I went a head and threw the eggs to the hens. They ate it anyway. I was shocked, but it happened.
The coop chickens are hanging in there. I brought them some water. They were appreciative of the water. Theirs had been frozen all day.
The donkeys and goats thought I had feed and were trying to get to the bucket I was holding. There was no food in there. I had taken water to the coop chickens.
The donkeys after bothering me decided to go over to the hay bale and eat. I mean, come on, they have food.
The pigs are doing fine. They actually amaze me with all this cold. Ronnie was able to get fresh water to the pigs.
The goats and sheep got some extra hay because of the cold. I put it in their houses so they could eat out of the wind.
It was such a pretty evening. I am ready for later evenings, though. But sometimes, I need to remember to be happy where we are in this moment and not always be looking in the past or in the future.
