I got up to already freezing weather. It wasn’t supposed to be cold that early, but this is West Texas and has a mind of its own. So, I did not finish up chores last night because I trusted the weather app. I know better than that, but I was exhausted. In saying that, I worried about my two coop chickens all day at work since I did not put more hay in their shelter. When I got home, I went to check on them. I’m sure you know those hens were fine. I did put more hay in the crate and reminded myself why procrastination is just more stressful than doing the job. Nothing good comes from procrastination. The hens even pecked the ice in the water until they got to the water. They sure are smart.
I did see all the cats. I was starting to wonder about Yeller, but he finally showed up. I did put more hat in the crate for them. It’s cold already and only supposed to get worse.
Lucky ate out of my hand. Poor guy was shivering. I hate this weather for them. He was already starting to shed his winter hair.
Everyone has food, water, and shelter, that’s all we can do. The animals even know how to get to water when it’s frozen
over; except the goats and the sheep. That is amazing to me.
