November 30, 2025

It got cold. Went from the high in the 70s to high in the 40s. It was cold. Hat and coat kind of cold. The animals are all doing fine. The cats are hunkered down in warm spots out of the wind. I gave the donkeys some carrots and some pumpkins. I did not stay out long.

The animals know there is a cold front coming through. You can tell by the way they are acting. They were all running around acting like they needed to find shelter. The chicks have no idea what to do. It hasn’t been cold in a long time.
The cows and donkeys are still mad that we are not giving them feed anymore. They will get over it. Sometimes we do things for other people’s own good even if they don’t like it.
Sonny’s spur is just hanging there. He will not let me get close to him though.
The pigs got new straw. They were so happy about that.

November 28, 2025

I was able to decorate my desk for Christmas today. It is simple, but it turned out cute.
Yeller was funny today. He was standing at the door and messing with Ursula. He then went into the bushes and would jump out at the chicks. It was quite funny to watch. I did see Onyx and Athena, too. The weather is changing, so they were all over the place.
I did put in some straw for the chickens in both coops and in the doghouses used for winter shelter by all of the animals.
This morning Ronnie and I discussed Alex and getting him in the trailer. I said to Ronnie we had done everything but switching trailers. Well, he did end up getting in the smaller trailer. He did not like it according to Ronnie, but they made it to the vet. I have to tell you, I am shocked by what she said. Basically Alex is having difficulty with his feet because he is so overweight. She has put him on a strict diet. Luckily that is all that was. I really thought he was sick. Nope, just overweight and his body is having difficulty with the extra weight. We will be working on that. The other animals will be going on a diet, too. The donkeys were sure happy to see Alex, but not as happy as Jasper. Alex went right over to the hay and laid down.
Now, Ronnie had to clean out the hay and stuff from the smaller trailer. Apparently Onyx was living in the smaller trailer and she is mad about it. She was back up on the trailer when it got back.
These chicks are not chicks anymore. They sure are beautiful.
The donkeys and goats were up by the fencing. They know the weather is changing.
I also got to love on some horses. That is always good.
Sonny has another injury. It does not look good. He somehow got his spur almost ripped off. There was blood all over his leg and foot. I am not even sure what to do with that. I will have to look at it again tomorrow.
The vet put everyone on a diet, so the cows and donkeys did not get fed. They were not happy about it. They were yelling at us. All but Alex. He was so exhausted, he just went to lay down and he did not get up. He is happy to be out of the pen.
The pigs are doing fine.
I did turn on all of our Christmas lights in the house tonight.
