We went to Luckenbach, TX. It is a small town outside of Fredericksburg. We had a good day.
When we got home, we ate dinner and did our normal routine. I had called a friend to feed for me so we would not have to do that in the dark. Ronnie went to let the dogs out like one of us normally does around 9pm. All I heard was what sounded like something banging on the back door. The first time I did not think much of it. Then I heard it again, so I got up and turned the light on out back to see what was going on. I saw Ronnie with a bebe gun. I also saw all of my chicks lined up by the fence and not in the coop. When Ronnie came in, he said there had been a skunk in the chicken coop and now none of the chicks would go back into the coop. I went out to check on them, and those poor chicks were terrified. They were all huddled in groups in different areas. I picked them up one by one and put them back in the coop. They were not happy about it at all, but I was helping them get over the trauma. You cannot let fear hold you back from living your life. This was my point here. They all finally calmed down, so I went back inside. I felt so bad for them. The skunk did leave, thank goodness. Hopefully it will not come back.
