Last Look

I was over with Saverine and she was looking out longingly at the other horses. She seemed okay, but she just kept looking over there at the other horses. I did not understand at the time. However, the next morning, Saverine was down and she passed away not long after. She was saying goodbye in her own terms. I was devastated. I knew she was not doing well, but I was not ready for all of that. Her death hit me so hard, I was ready to give up the farm. I cried and screamed and was just ready to not ever have to do this again. The loss of any animals is hard and we have been hit a lot lately. Saverine was so loved here, but they all are. Every loss is hard, but this one hit harder. She was an old lady and she just could not go on. Ronnie and I are both heart broken over her death.
