September 25

The weather was gorgeous yesterday.
I don’t know what is going on with Chloe, but she is trying to stay away from one of the roosters and she ends up in weird spots. She is a hot mess right now.

The dogs were all up moving around in the yard today because the weather was so beautiful. I love to see that.

Jasper does not seem much better. His knots are still there. Ronnie is going to call the vet. He is still eating and drinking and is moving normally, but those knots are not getting smaller.

We have devil’s claw out here all over the pasture. Porky was playing with one of them. I tried to get it from him but he finally dropped it.

Spots was hiding for some reason in the barn. I started to automatically get concerned and Ronnie said she was fine. She came out a few minutes after that.

Willow is still fascinated with the pigs and the pigs are still frustrated about it. They at least are not screaming at her anymore. That’s a plus.

Willow did not want to have anything to do with us today. She is still mad at us. She will get over it though.
I watched Onyx and Daisy being tolerant of each other. Who said cats and dogs cannot get along??

September 24

I saw a cute little hummingbird in the window. I was able to get a good picture of the little bird.

Willow got half the halter off. She just was not having it. I don’t know how she did it, but the nose part was under her chin and she still had the loop wrapped around her ears. She was trying to hang out with the donkeys on the other side of the fence.
I decided to try to take off the halter. I got it halfway off but she ran off before I could get it all the way off. I knew we had to get it off though with the way it was.

Ronnie pulled out the treats and Noma went directly to him. I am not sure that has ever happened. He was giving her treats and Willow wasn’t sure about it so she kept pushing Noma in between her and I. Then the cows came up demanding treats and throwing those horns at me. During all the commotion, Ronnie was able to grab the halter and pull it off while Willow was distracted. I was in shock at how fast he was able to do that.

After all that, I was able to give the pasture donkeys treats. I don’t normally give them too many because they fight and they did fight then also, but each one got 2 treats. I sure do love them but they need to chill.

The cows also did get treats and so did Mattie. They all got some extra love.

Poor Bubba, he was on the table and literally just fell off it. I don’t know what I am going to do with that crazy cat. I know he is declining.

September 23

I watched Willow and Pedro walking the fence line together today. They are sweet.

I walked out to check on the pigs and they knew I was coming. They all lined up by the fence to say hello.

Willow is still trying to aggravate the pigs. That makes me laugh.

Willow continues to follow me around the pasture. She is something else.

I had a volunteer here today. While she was distracting Willow, I got a halter halfway on her. She ran off before I could get it clipped. She got all the donkeys upset. I thought one of the animals were in heat or something the way Mattie was acting, but no, Willow was mad so everyone else was upset, too. I did get her halter clipped finally. Once she calmed down, the other donkeys calmed down. She is cute with her pink halter on.

The cows were relaxing under the fan in their shed today instead of hanging out in the heat.

I do have a chicken laying in a weird spot these days. She is definitely laying in a private spot.

It was a hot day and the pigs were loving the mud today.

The pigs sure do love each other. I love to see their relationships.

I had some friends over today and they were enjoying the animals. That is always nice to see.

I had a chicken trying to get the dog food. That is dangerous for the chicken. She never did get close enough to try though.

Hercules was eating with the chickens again. I find that funny, but I’m glad the all get along.

Poor Tinkerbelle is so miserable. She has cried out all day. I feel bad for her, but I know she will stop it eventually.

Noma has been trying to wean Willow, but she seems to have given that up. While Willow was nursing earlier, Noma is so tired, she just gave up and rested her head on Willow as she nursed.

Alex knows Jasper has not been feeling like himself. He was showing Jasper some compassion this evening.

The chickens are still roosting in the dead tree out front at night. It still makes me laugh.

The sunset was beautiful tonight.

September 22

The weather is hotter again. I’m not loving that, but it’s okay. It is what it is. I know one of these days I am going to not love the cold. It looks like it is going to be a wet and cold winter. I do not look forward to that, but we need the wet around here.

Yeller was staying cooler in the dirt this afternoon. He is the absolute cutest.

Red sure wanted some attention today and once I gave him some attention, he followed me around.

The donkeys are doing so well. They are loving the green grass growing.

As I was feeding, I started hearing one of the pigs screaming. That pig continued screaming. I had no idea what was happening. I started to panic. I thought something was wrong. Then I see Willow sticking her head in the pig pen and the pigs did not appreciate it. Once she walked away, they stopped screaming.

Yeller was loving the dirt. He found another spot in the dirt to lay in. He is precious.

Lucky is in rut. It’s that time of year. He is the only uncut goat we have. Tinkerbelle can smell him and she going crazy yelling at him from her pen. I feel bad for her, but not bad enough to breed her.

Jasper is doing the same. He is acting more normal. That’s good news.

September 21

It was a breathtakingly gorgeous morning. The animals were all up and around. It was looking like rain today. We need it.

Yeller was camped out in the hay laying around taking all the relaxing moments he could get.

I was able to get some Yeller cuddles today. For him to once be so fearful of humans, he is such a loving little cat. He just melts into me for cuddles.

I caught Hercules eating with the chickens again. He is funny. He is not going to stop that.

This place is so peaceful. The animals are doing well, we are doing well. I have struggled with possibly wanting to shut this place down, but every time I think about it, I am blessed with new opportunities which tells me God is in this and I have to keep moving forward.

I watched Noma patiently waiting for her food. She is such a pretty donkey. I just wished you knew how much she is loved.

Maggie actually stood up to eat today. I have not seen that in a long time. She was feeling better today.

Gus was literally trying to climb the fence for food today. I cannot with him. Sometimes he is too much.

Jasper is getting his food aggressive personality back these days. He does still have his knots though.

Jelly came home early today. He ate and then went to relax in the shop which is his favorite spot to be. He knows he is safe in there.

Jasper and Alex are never far away from each other. They are so sweet and bonded friends.

I have watched Suzie Q and Fred, they have such a bond. Suzie Q hatched Fred a while back. He has stayed by her side since Edith passed away. He protects her. It’s sweet.
