July 4, 2025

May was standing up in the shop again. That is really a good thing.
The baby chicks were happy the coop was dry. I do not blame them.
The cats were all home and relaxing.
Noma is getting more intolerant of me these days. She sees me coming and swings around like she is going to kick me. I do not know what to do with her anymore.
Ronnie was out loving on some horses. I know he does not get to do that as much as he used to. He is not home as much now.
The pig pens are starting to dry up, that is a good thing.
I did give the donkeys and goats some extra feed. They were appreciative of it.
The sky was beautiful. I went out to see if I could see some fireworks. I could not see them, but I could hear them coming from the neighboring town.
The chicks were all sleeping in the doghouse. I am glad they do that now.
The cats were all home late in the evening.

July 3, 2025

I walked into the shop to check on May. She has somehow gotten herself up on the shelf. It was good to see that. I was afraid she could not get down, so I gently picked her up and put her back to where she could be by the wind blowing since it gets hot in the shop. It has not been as hot this week due to the rain which is good though.

The chicks are all doing fine. They are spoiled.

The cats seem to be watching the chicks. I still do not know if this is a good thing or a bad thing. Yeller was curled up in some hay. He did not want any part in anything.

I left work early to try to beat the upcoming storms. That did not happen. Not even remotely close. As soon as I got home, it came a down pour. Sometimes you can make the best plan, but those plans do not work like we want them to.

I gave Oreo and Ursula a little extra attention while they were playing with a box while I was waiting for the rain to stop.

I finally gave up and went and fed in the rain. The rain was not going to stop anytime soon, so I just went out and did it. I fed the goats and sheep in the shelters again. The cats went into the shop to get out of the rain. The horses did come out to eat, even in the rain. The pigs ate in the rain. The pasture goats were in the barn. The donkeys did not seem to mind the rain and were out grazing.

Ursula was pouting because I shut her out of the bedroom for some reason. She was not happy about it. I did not even realize I had done it. She got over it pretty fast.

July 2, 2025

The chick survived the storms of the night. I have not seen this much rain in years around here.
The cats all survived, too. They were doing fine this morning.
The rain was coming in again. I ended up feeding the goats and sheep hay, and in their shelters to keep them from getting wet. They are spoiled animals.
The donkeys were all up by the house. I know they knew the rain was coming, so they might as well get up by the barn for when it started. They are smart.
May was up again. That is a good sign. I want her to get better. She is staying in the shop and away from the others to continue to heal. She does have a select few hens who stay close to her. Sometimes we do need to let others know we are there for them just by being in the same place they are in.
I fed the animals as fast as I could feed them so I would not get soaked. The animals were all doing fine.
The pasture goats were feeling frisky with the cooler weather. They were almost wrestling. They make me laugh.
The dogs are loving all the water. That is what I get from having 2 black labs. They love the water.
I did forget to close Tinkerbelle and Cinderella's gate. I do not do that too often. I do think we all have some off days from time to time.

July 1, 2025

It is still looking like rain. The cats are all home and relatively dry. They must have a good spot to hide in when it rains. Yeller was happy to get some petting. I refuse to complain about the rain; we need it so badly. Be grateful for those things you receive after you have asked for them.
The chicks are doing well with getting in the crate for when it rains. I am glad of that. The chicks are doing well, growing up fast. I did see them eating hay this morning and thought that was weird, so I googled it. They will eat hay for entertainment or while looking for insects. I did find that interesting.
The dogs are sure happy they live inside. I am glad they do, too.
The clouds were sure beautiful coming in. I know it is bringing more rain. The horses were not seeming to mind too much.
The cats were all home this afternoon, also.
The donkeys were way out in the pasture and those clouds were coming in fast. They did not seem to care either.
Annabeth and Rena are doing fine in the chicken coop. They have places to stay out of the rain. They are spoiled girls.
May is up more. She is still not wanting to use that leg and I do not blame her, but she is up. The leg really does not look good, but I can't imagine it is supposed to.
I wish yall could see how pretty it is with the clouds coming in on the farm. I am amazed every single time.
The pigs were still flooded, but they were not complaining either. At least it is not 110 degrees outside. I am so glad of that. The pigs will be fine.
Onyx got up on top of the chicken coop and then it started raining and she could not get down. Ronnie went outside to help and got soaked with that cold rain. Onyx would not let Ronnie help her and got down on her own finally. Sometimes being too independent is not a good thing.
