The cats were around the chicken coop again this morning. Yeller was in the hay not far from the coop. All the chicks did make it. They were running around in the coop. 

Ursula wanted outside. She really just wanted to roll around in the dirt. Once she did that, she was fine with going back inside. 

I bought some treats for the chicks. I only got one of the chicks to eat out of my hand, but at least one of them did. I poured the rest of the treats out for the chicks. They were loving it. 

I was looking at May earlier. I was thinking how she had made it through so much. She is an old lady. Well, I must have spoken too soon. I looked over in time to see Mattie step on her foot. She squealed and hollered. I went to check on her. She was bloody and hurting. I put her in with Tinkerbelle and Cinderella to heal. She should be okay, but I wanted her somewhere to heal for at least the night. She was not loving my attention, but she is going to have to get used to it for a while anyway. When you need help, do not be too proud to accept the help. 

The clouds were rolling in again. I will take all the rain I can around here. 

Sonny was chasing Ernestine. Ernestine is smart enough to know Sonny cannot fly anymore, so if she can get up on the fence, he will leave her alone. 

Athena was laid out in a scary position in the backyard. I was nervous something had happened to her. As I got closer, she jumped up, so I knew she was fine. 

I gave Melody an egg that was cracked. She loves that. 

It started raining again. It was not much, but it did produce a beautiful rainbow. I love to see those rainbows. 

The cats were all up by the house due to the rain.

Onyx must be hanging out with the baby chicks often. She was in front of the chicken coop again. Athena was behind the chicken coop, too. 

I saw a lone deer at work today. She just looked sad and lonely. I have a heart for wildlife, also. Wildlife is so beautiful, we all should have a heart for the wildlife around us and protect it. 

Onyx must be unsettled. I found her under the trailer when I got home from work. I guess whatever works for her to beat the heat. 

Lucky came out of the barn to eat some corn I was going to feed to the chickens. Whatever works. I am glad he is coming to me, even if it is only for food. Lucky was the only one who came out to see me. 

I did have to catch a hen today. She somehow had string wrapped around her foot. The string was not tight, but regardless, the string needed to come off of there. Ruth was not happy about it, at all, but the string is off of there. That is what was important. 

The baby chicks are still growing fast. 

There were some weird bugs all over the house this afternoon. It did not last long, but I sure did not want to see that. 

Tinkerbelle enjoyed me petting her so much. That girl is sweet. 

It did look like more clouds were rolling in. 

The pigs were all doing well. They were loving the mud. 

The donkeys were in the back pasture with green grass. 

The chickens in the backyard were loving some fresh water from a hole in the water hose. Ruth was having difficulty with getting some water from the trough, but she finally did it. 

We actually have a frog living in the nasty pig ponds. I am not sure how it is surviving, but it is.

The goats finally did get out of the barn and go over to where the donkeys were. 

It started pouring down rain later. I ran out in the rain to make sure those chicks were smart enough to get into the doghouse to get out of the direct rain. All but one were cozy in the doghouse. I picked the other one up and put her in the doghouse, too. I am so glad they were in that doghouse.

June 25, 2025

Onyx was sitting by the hay bales. I have never seen her do that, but there she was. 

I was struggling with a migraine today. I had to come home from work to go back to bed after taking some medicine. I felt a bit better after getting up. I do get those often these days. 

I saw Yeller by a water bowl in the backyard. It was the same place I found him when he showed up here a few years ago. He has been such a great cat since showing up here. 

The baby chicks are still growing and doing well. I love to watch them. 

Most of the animals were trying to stay in shelters to stay out of the heat. I got things done as quickly as I could due to not feeling well. 

I was working with Bella. She was working on shaking with me. Why I did not know she knew how to do that is beyond me. She was pleased with herself with the accomplishment. Be proud of every accomplishment you complete. 

Willow was giving the sheep some attention. Or, just like Mattie, stealing hay if she could. She did allow me to love on her for a few minutes. She doesn’t always. 

I went out into the pasture. Carlos is the only animal who looked up and paid any attention to me. It is important to know the things that are going on around you. I did love on Carlos. he is such a sweet goat. I do call him my unicorn. He is growing one horn on his head. I don’t know how that happened, but it is happening.
