Ned and the other donkeys had lost their trust in us since the castrations. They did not appreciate the surgery but it was necessary for their health and everyone else’s. I realize they lost their trust in us since we tricked them into the surgery but it had to happen. Luckily they are starting to trust us again. It is taking some time and effort but they are worth it. They are coming to the fence again and letting me pet them. I know it will all work out.
