March 16, 2025

I drove home today. When I got there my head was hurting, so I went to bed for a few minutes. I got up to help feed and water so I could see all my babies. I miss them when I am gone.

I did get to see all the cats. The donkeys and goats were out in the pasture. The other animals all seemed fine also. The sheep and goats were fine. Saverine is still limping.

As I went into the sheep barn to feed them, I saw Sonny, my rooster, literally hanging from the fence by his leg. Oh, it broke my heart. How he got that way, we will never know. He looked pitiful. I got him off the fence and loved on him. I looked him over and saw it looks like a leg injury. I am thinking his leg is dislocated.

The sheep were jealous of me giving Sonny so much attention, so they stood behind me until I gave them the attention they wanted.

I moved Sonny to the goat barn. Those two goats are a little calmer and the chickens aren't always in there. He is already injured, so I need to make sure he is protected as best as I can. Sonny did eat with Tinkerbelle and Cinderella; he might have pecked them a time or two. I also have him water from a syringe to make sure he did not get dehydrated.

Daisy thought it was warm enough to get into the water bowl while she was drinking the water.

Before I went to bed, I put Sonny boy in the shelter with the goats to keep him out of the wind at night. He settled down in the corner just fine. I hope he gets better. Injuries happen, but they break my heart. Compassion for others is a good thing, especially those who need some help.

Oreo and Ursula missed me while I was gone. Both of them needed to be right beside me.
