The rain had stopped and it was sunny and hot. The donkeys were up close to the fence for feeding time, so I got to see them. 

Suzie Q was in the coop, but Annabeth had dug out of the coop. It was not a good thing for her to dig out of that coop. Hens fight like roosters and those hens were on Annabeth fighting with her to put her in her place. I hate that. I knew I had to get her back into the coop. That is always easier said than done. 

The horses had somehow dumped the water trough over. How and why they did that I will never know. They are always into something. 

The pigs are so stinking cute. They really are. Gus likes to try to climb the fence for food. He is so funny. The other pigs are doing well also. 

Annabeth was wondering aimlessly around. I think she was a little nervous and was not real sure what to do. She obviously wasn’t going to let me pick her up, so I was not sure how to help her. 

The sheep are excited daily for food. 

Noma seems to be doing fine in the pen. I know she is getting rest. 

Willow was trying to be like the horses, but she does not fit in with them. They do not like her for some reason. 

The chickens were all hanging out in the shade due to the fact it was hot outside. 

Suzie Q did dig out of the coop also. I did find the hole they got out of. 

It did look like the clouds were rolling in again. 

I was able to open the coop door and Annabeth was ready to go back in. I do not think she will be trying to dig out anytime soon. I even gave her and Rena a cracked egg to show my appreciation they were both back in there. 

More rain must be coming, the cacti around the property are having their flowers bloom. I have heard that means it is going to rain, but who knows around here. 

Saverine was so pretty out in the pasture eating hay with the clouds coming in. She is such a beautiful mare. She was taking advantage of eating the hay while the other 4 horses were taking turns with the mineral bucket. 

5/4/24

Today me and a couple of friends did a small booth to advertise Mattie’s Mountain. We had a great day. There were lots of conversations on mental health and Mattie’s Mountain. It was productive for sure. I even found me a charm that reminds me of my Grandma. I do enjoy doing those and talking to people, but they do exhaust me after a full day. I am glad it went so well. I have a few more scheduled for this year. 

I knew there was a chance of rain and as I was leaving the store after the event, I knew it was coming fast. The rain hit as soon as I got home. I was grateful it waited until then. It was truly a down pour and that would have not been fun to drive in. Once the storm was over, I happened to look outside and there was a beautiful rainbow. I saw half of it and decided to run out the front door to see if it was a full rainbow. It was not only a full rainbow, but a double rainbow. It made my heart so happy. I was exhausted and could barely move, but that rainbow reminded me of the hope the Jesus can bring. 

I had a renewed sense of energy and was able to go take a few more pictures. The garden is looking good and I saw Jelly had come home. The donkeys were all out in the pasture under the beautiful sky. The. Sky really did show off tonight. 

Pepper is such a princess. She did not want to get her feet wet in the flooded back yard, but to get back into the house, she had to. She finally did. 

Later after the rainbow, it started raining again and I did get a beautiful picture of clouds and a lightning strike. I do love this place and I am grateful the Lord will give me a renewed sense of hope on the farm and helping others with mental health. 

5/3/24

It rained today. Actually, it poured. I ran home when there was a break in the weather to find the horse pasture flooded, the back yard was flooded, and the rain was continuing. The horses were in the barn staying out of the water. It was quite the mess to see. 

The donkey pasture was even flooded and that never happens. 

Poor Lester, he was running around in the rain. I have no idea why. The rain finally started to die down and the animals all came out. 

I am appreciative of the rain. We need it badly around here. The animals know when the rain is coming and when the rain is stopping. 

The rain continued for a long time. I was able to get a few lighting shots which I do like to do. 

I thought the rain was stopping, so I let the dogs out to start feeding. Well, me and the dogs got stuck under the car port when it came another down pour and hail. The dogs kept looking at me like are we going to eat or not? It finally came another break in the storm and I was able to get the dogs fed quickly and back inside.

 I fed the others in the rain. Suzie Q was still in the coop this afternoon. She seemed to be doing well. 

The donkeys were way back in the field during the storm to stay out of the rain. The barn was flooded, but the goats were in there staying dry. 

Some of the animals ran out to eat and then ran right back into their shelters. The little goats even ate together. That’s different,  but I did not give them an option. 

Poor Yeller was soaked to the bone. He was not happy about it. 

 It did finally let up a little and the clouds were beautiful. 

Mattie and Willow are still the best of friends. When I see that, I ask myself what I was so worried about with Mattie out of pen. 

The cows were also soaked to the bone, but they like to stay out in the rain for some reason. 

The horses did finally get out of the barn to get their food. 

Those clouds were still rolling in. It was looking rough for a few hours. The pigs were all fine. A little flooded, but still had areas to stay dry in.They did not care about being wet as long as they got to eat. They surrounded me for their food. I sure do love those little guys. 

I also noticed my squash plants were growing. I could not believe my eyes. It was amazing to see how fast they were growing. 

Willow sure does like Ronnie. So does Mattie. 

The animals did continue to eat their hay while the next round of storms came through.
