February 5, 2025

It sure was a foggy morning. I could barely see the horses out there eating on the hay bale.
I got home super late from work. But at one of my patient’s homes, I got to see some guineas, even a full white one. I have never seen that. Guineas may be my next thing. They are noisy and fun.
Ronnie had finished feeding already. I saw the donkeys and the cats. The rest of the animals were doing fine. It’s good to have a partner in life.

February 4, 2025

I got to see the cats. That’s a win.
Mattie and Willow were sure interested in Ronnie for some reason today. It’s funny to see them like that.
The donkeys were loving the open pasture this afternoon. I like to watch them out there.
The sheep decided to eat out of the same bowl. Go figure. I try to help them and they do not need my help. It’s funny, humans are the same way.
Everyone is doing good.
Athena loves to be up high. She is a climber. She was on top of the posts this evening. Crazy cat.

February 3, 2025

I came home to a present from my sister. It’s a memorial present for Pepper and Maggie. I cried a bit, but it’s a beautiful gift.
The cats were home this afternoon. I tried the squeaking chicken with the other donkeys today. That’s another big nope. They wanted nothing to do with it.
The animals are all doing okay.
The weather did turn hot. Ronnie had let the water run over for the pigs to be able to get into the mud. Russ did just that. He was so muddy. The pigs were all happy today. The pigs never do complain and are all happy all the time. I wish humans valued be that way. I wish I was that way. Life would be easier.
Ted is shedding at a fast rate with the hot weather.
We are sure hanging in there even though it’s February and 85 degrees.

February 2, 2025

I got up to feed the animals a little later than I had planned, but they got to eat.
Jeb was laying down in the barn on the pine shavings. He looked so peaceful. I guess Sundays are the day to rest. We all need to allow ourselves to rest at times. Jeb was showing me how to rest. I need more of that in my life.
Noma allowed me to lobe on her, but only for a minute.
Spots and Saverine let me love on them. Takua was eating the hay bale while no one else was around.
Saverine does not tolerate the donkeys at all. Mattie got too close to the fence and Saverine let him know it. Mattie did not seem to be phased by it.
I saw the hens from the donkey barn over in the backyard today. Maybe they are trying to be back with the chicken herd.
Buckwheat had it made. He was laying in the hay. He would eat and then relax a bit. It was funny to watch him.
I had not seen Yeller again all day. I do not love that. I did finally see him in the evening laying on a gopher mound. I guess he was hunting. I had seen Onyx and Athena earlier, but I did not get a picture of Athena.
Ronnie did get to come home today and he is a little better. That’s good news. And he brought home cat food.

February 1, 2025

Since Ronnie is in the hospital, I got up to feed the animals. This is not something I normally do, but I did this morning.
I saw Athena and Onyx right off. They were waiting for food. I’m almost out of cat food, but still do not feel well and do not want to leave the house. Ronnie does not want me to come see him since I still am so sick. I had to ration the cat food outside and inside.
The dogs are like teenagers and see opportunities to be bad. I was rationing cat food and those two decide to go in the shop and eat all the cat food I had just put out. Insert eye roll here. I am hoping I have enough until Ronnie gets home. If not, I guess I will go to the store.
The sheep and goats were happy with their hay.
The other animals are mad about bing out of hay. When people are sick things get overlooked. I was able to feed the horses some alfalfa we had. Saverine allowed me to pet on her while she was eating. The horses were happy about the hay.
The wind blew in the dust in the afternoon. The donkeys and goats were still eating the hay they had weeks ago.
I had not seen Yeller in the morning and I was getting concerned, but he was in the backyard out of the wind. I did get to see the cats all in the afternoon.
I got a good pick of Willow and Pedro. He really could not deny her if he tried.
A friend of ours came out to put out hay since Ronnie is in the hospital. I’m so grateful. When you know someone needs help, step up for them.
Noma allowed me to love on her. That always makes me happy.
The weather was much warmer today. I actually got eggs today. It’s been awhile.
I had to separate the sheep bowls so Ted could actually eat. Bill was trying to eat all of the food.
The moon and Venus was sure pretty to look at tonight.
