Today is Thanksgiving. We went out of town for the day and had lunch with some family and some new friends. It was a pretty day and we had a good time. We did have a friend of mine feed the animals this evening. 

I got to see all the cats and the chick in the tree. 

The dogs had destroyed some things in the house and I was extremely thankful Ursula and Oreo were okay. The dogs were in trouble. That part of the day was not fun. They do that every once in a while. 

November 26, 2025

I saw a bunch of wild turkeys on my way to work. It was a pretty sight. I am glad to see there is still a wild turkey population here where I live. I do see them from time to time. 

I got to see all the cats. I am glad these cats stay home. I have lost too many and it is devastating every time. 

Alex is still in the pen. He is not having the getting in the pen. He seems exhausted and like he does not feel good. Ronnie is still giving him antibiotics, so hopefully he will be okay. Ronnie said he would keep trying to get him in the trailer and get him to the vet. I do know he does not want to get into the trailer because he does not understand what is going on. We all have things that we need to do and we don’t want to because we fear the unknown, but sometimes it is good to do for our own well being. 

November 25, 2025

Alex is still in the pen. He is acting like he does not feel well at all. I am hating it for sure. We will be trying to get him in the trailer tomorrow. The other animals are all out by the hay bales, but Jasper does go check on his friend often. 

The one chick who roosts in the tree makes me laugh. Every morning she is checking on her friends and getting them up and awake. It is entertaining to watch. 

I did get to see all the cats this morning before work. 

After work as I was out feeding, one of the chicks was in the shop. I picked her up and put her on my shoulder for a bit. She was not so sure about that. 

The sheep and goats all got treats as I was bringing them out to get Alex in the trailer. 

Let’s just say Ronnie and I tried for hours to get Alex in that trailer. We tried so many different things. The only thing we did not try was putting a saddle on him and riding him up in the trailer. This guy was so stubborn and he was not going. 

The other animals were all watching Alex. Some of them looked kind of stressed. The horses just kept on with their business and not caring at all. 

The cats just wanted to climb all over Ronnie’s truck. They sure are silly animals. 

I gave the donkeys and goats some apples a coworker brought me. They sure did like that. 

The chicks were all getting in the coop early for whatever reason. I guess they start getting in the coop early since the sun sets early. 

Alex is sure stubborn. I think a lot of us can be stubborn in life, but it is not helpful in any instance. 

I did see the chick in the tree again tonight. 

November 24, 2025

I did not go outside this morning; Ronnie did all the things that needed to be done. Apparently, Athena slept in the chicken coop with the chicks. Ronnie said she looked like she had a good night sleep with the way she was stretching. And all the chicks were okay, so there's that. 

When I got home Ursula was standing in the doorway. I guess the door did not get shut all the way. She was happy to be looking outside. 

Waldo wanted my attention. He does not ask for my attention often, so I went over to give him some petting. He is a sweet goat. 

I did get to see all the cats. 

The chicks are doing well with the other hens, and they are starting to all eat together. The colder the temps get, the more togetherness there will have to be. They may not know that yet, but they will learn. Togetherness can be a good thing if you can get along. 

Hercules was something else. He wanted nothing to do with me; he only wanted the food in my hand. He did end up getting some of the feed, so did Carlos and Lucky. 

Cinderella's foot was better. I have no idea what could have happened there. 

Jeb was chasing Saverine again. I know the weather is changing. He does that more in the cooler weather. It just makes me mad. I think he thinks he is playing, but that is not what it looks like. Looks can be deceiving; I have heard that all my life. 

Onyx was sitting up on a high point in the shop. She was facing the hens who were roosting up high. That always makes me wonder what is on the ground. I might not want to know. 

Alex was up eating. He is still getting antibiotics. Hopefully we can get him to the vet this week. 

The pigs are doing what pigs do. Nothing new there. 

Daisy and Bella got some extra attention. You would think they never got any attention, but they do. 

I did finally find that spot in the tree Ronnie was talking about where the one chick roosts. It really is high up in a tree. I mean, if that is what she wants to do. 

I finally finished a quilt I have been working on with farm animals. It is super cute. It turned out better than I had anticipated.
