January 21, 2025

It is so cold. I watched the horses eating hay this morning and I could see every breath. One of them walked away and it was like I could see the body heat radiating off that horse. That’s cold.
The donkeys were grazing the pasture to stay warm as I was leaving for work.
Ted was better today. He ate with no difficulties.
I saw onyx and Yeller, but no Athena today. I’m sure she found a warm spot and stayed put. The other two were in the crate together staying warm. See, animals are smart.
Even when it’s cold, life move on and we have to feed and water these animals. It can be miserable but some things we do not want to do can be a blessing to us after we have completed the task we did not want to do. The farm is a blessing to us, even when it’s cold and it’s not easy.
I found a cracked egg in the shop and gave it to Melody. She was so happy.
Daisy and Bella sure did not want to stay outside. We did not want to stay outside. Luckily for those two, they live inside, so they came in quickly.
The sunset was gorgeous again tonight. It is hard to beat a West Texas sunset.
