October 24, 2025

It was still rainy looking out the next morning. There was a big chance of rain for most of the day.
I did not see the cats except for Athena. I know the weather messes them up.
Jasper was out dancing in the cooler air. I do love to see him so happy and dancing around. He does not do that as much as he used to.
The storms were bad today. It poured for hours. It was a regular West Texas storm, unpredictable. The chicks were still running around when I got home. It was after the storm. Ursula still had to run outside. She must have been able to tell it was about to rain again because she was trying to hide. Instincts are no joke. Pay attention to the instincts you get in situations, they are there for a reason.
Jeb was running the other horses around. I hate when he does that. It is just mean. Takua looks out for Saverine when Jeb starts trying to run her around. Jeb can be a bully. No one likes a bully, so don’t be one.
The chicks were roosting on the fencing. They were all kind of disoriented or something. The storm must have messed them up, too.
Onyx was seen later in the day, so was Yeller. Yeller was soaked. I wish they would go into the shop, but they won’t when it is raining because of the metal roofing and the sound it makes. They all went in to eat while I was in there though.
Mattie was running around like crazy. He ran around and around and at the end of it, he was going to stop and he kicked the cow that was standing there. I laughed so hard.
Alex was laid out in the shelter. He looked comfortable.
The pigs were soaked. There was no dry spot for Gus and the girls. The other pen did have a spot where all of them could cuddle up and stay dry. Ronnie ended up moving Gus and the girl’s shelter to get them out of the water. There was a lot of water in both pens.
One of the chicks could not figure out how to get back to where the rest of the chicks were. I ended up having to show her.
Ted and Bill were enjoying the mineral block.
The little goats were staying in the shelter as it started to rain again.
Somehow the gate on the barn for the donkeys and goats got closed. That does happen when the wind blows hard. None of them like to get wet, so they were all trying to stay under a small opening. Ronnie did open the gate and they ended up going in there.
The clouds were outrageous. It did rain a little more.
