October 26, 2025

The chicks were using the roosting ladder when I went out in the morning.
Athena and Onyx were eating together. Yeller was tired and staying in the hay. He looked so comfortable.
Ronnie had closed the door to the donkey barn so we could worm them. It took some coaxing, but the donkeys got wormed. I fed them all treats while he was worming them so they would at least come to the fence.
May was enjoying some fresh air while being up and around. She amazes me. Animals will do whatever they can to survive. May has done well with healing after her broken leg. Determination is key to success.
I started another pumpkin for the chicks to enter into a contest. Let’s see how they do.
The donkeys and goats acted really interested into one area for a bit. I never did go check it out.
Ursula and Oreo were sure being lazy. That is what Sunday’s are for, I guess.
Ronnie brought in a cedar chest. I found another quilt I had finished a long time ago and put the quilt on top of the cedar chest. I knew I needed to do that. It did not take long for Ursula to decide that is where she wanted to sit.
I finished a baby quilt for a friend of mine today. I do like to quilt. That is my relaxing time.
The cats were getting along this evening.
The chicks were all out eating. My count was still off for the chicks. I am hoping they are okay.
The horses got a new hay bale.
Ted is still not acting right to me. I am just at a loss. He was just standing there. The hens were all sitting out in the hay that the sheep did not eat. Ted did eat some, but still not eating a lot.
Alex is eating better. He still does not look like he feels good. I am still hoping the weather is what the problem is.
Gus got some belly rubs. Ronnie and I got the straw out and put straw in all the pig houses. It is supposed to get cold, almost freezing one night this week. I knew it was time.
Ronnie gave me a ride in the bucket of the tractor. The looks we got from the cows was really priceless. Noma even hollered at me. The donkeys were looking at me like I was crazy.
I started looking for the chicks. I found some feathers in 2 spots, but the coloring is wrong for the chicks. And while I saw that, Yeller was hunting for birds.
I found a big quilt I started years and years ago, so I worked on that for a while. Oreo liked the quilt and wanted to lay on it. I started this quilt for myself a long time ago. I guess it is time to finish it.
The pumpkin did not turn out real well yet. They still have another day to finish it.
I went looking for the comet again, but I saw nothing. I am over it.
I also went looking for the chicks to be roosting somewhere else, but there was no luck. I am wondering if they went to find shelter in the rain and got lost. I am just so sad. There are 7 missing. That seems like a big number.
