5/2/24

I was out doing some home health visits and I saw this incredible cloud. I had to pull over and take a picture of it. The cloud was beautiful. I saw it and had a feeling there was going to be a storm coming in.

Suzie Q was wanting in the coop again, so I opened the door and she ran right in there.

I watched Melody in the shop drinking some water. Chickens always take a drink and look up to the sky. It amazes me each time I see it.

When I got home, I took more pictures of the horses under those beautiful clouds. The horses make the pictures look better. Horses make so many things better.

Mattie and Willow were allowing the chickens to eat with them today without making a big fuss.

Noma seems to be enjoying her time in the pen. She is doing some relaxing and she is able to eat all of her food and not have to fight for it. I do not blame her for liking it in the pen.

It was such a hot day today, the chickens were staying cool by the water troughs in the shade.

Yeller was hot today, too, but he was choosing to be up on the porch. He was napping pretty heavily in the heat. He sure looked peaceful.

Athena and Onyx were hanging out in the shade by the garden tonight. Maggie and Pepper were hanging out with them for a few minutes.

I planted some squash seeds a couple of weeks ago and they are growing. I was so excited to see that.

Bubba decided to stand at the opened door getting some fresh, but hot air. He did not attempt to run out the door. I did not blame him. It sure was hot out. Later Bubba gave me some attention. He sure is a sweet boy.

I went out later to let the dogs out one more time before bed and Jelly was hollering at me, so I waited and gave him some attention.

5/1/24

The horses made it through the storms last night.

The cats were all hanging out under the car port this morning. I am glad to see them.

When I got home, it was looking like it could possibly rain again. The animals were all standing close together. That is not a normal thing. The cows, the donkeys, the horses, and the chickens.

Annabeth was being mean to Rena tonight which made no sense to me, but maybe they are having some kind of feud. Who knows?

The donkeys and goats were of course, living it up in the pasture.

The pigs all made it through the storm and seem to be doing well today. I am glad to see the one pig pen is starting to get their mud hole going.

It looks like all the animals are doing well today.

The garden is starting to grow, but the chickens seem to be interested in the plants also, so we will see what happens with that.

Mattie and Willow are still staying close to Noma. They miss her being out of the pen. She will be back with them as soon as she can be. She needs a few weeks of rest and relaxation.

4/30/24

I went out this morning and saw Jelly sitting up in the lawn mower. He looked so cute up there in his little spot. I got to see all the cats this morning. That made me happy.

The horses are all doing well. They were all out in the pasture together. I’m glad to see Saverine with all the other horses.

Pepper is really declining lately. It just breaks my heart. She’s my baby. I am working on giving her all the attention I can here lately.

The donkey and goats were loving the pasture. The sun rays were up above them. They sure make me happy.

The clouds were absolutely gorgeous tonight. A storm is rolling in tonight it looks like. There was a rainbow in the sky, but there had not been any rain yet.

Saverine was showing her gratitude to Ronnie today. She went up to him and let him pet her for the first time. That is progress. She has to know by now that he will fight for her as long as she will fight.

Noma is doing better. She does not look like she has an infection today.

Mattie came up behind me and wanted some atttention. Of course I gave him some attention.

Alex was being all sweet tonight acting like he was going to give me a small kiss on the cheek. She is such a sweetheart.

Willow loves Ronnie and she was begging for his attention tonight. He did give her that attention. Mattie, too.

The donkeys and cows were sharing the hay bale nicely tonight. It is looking like the storm is getting closer.

I had to help Pepper get up tonight, so while I was helping her get up, I decided to take some pictures of her. I sure do love this dog. I know the end is coming though, so I have to hold on to what time I have left.
At least she is still a happy dog.

Well, the storm finally did hit. The problem with that is it was not just rain, it was hail also. The animals will not stay under shelter when there is hail hitting those metal roofs. The horses and the donkeys were running around like crazy in the hail storm. Luckily it did not last too long.

I did get to see a rainbow. I do love to see a rainbow after a storm. Jeb was at the bottom of the rainbow. He is such a beautiful horse.

4/29/24

It was another hot one. Mattie and Willow are still staying close to Noma’s pen. Noma seems to be happy in the pen at this point. She is relaxing.

The chickens were all in the dirt to try to stay as cool as they could. They also decided to take their dirt baths under the tree to stay in the shade.

Tinkerbelle was eating her hay while lying down. I wonder if the heat drained all of her energy and she just wanted to lay down and eat.

I threw out some chicken feed to the chickens, I had to laugh when I saw Hercules sticking his nose and mouth under the barn door to get some of the feed.

Saverine was doing much better today. I was able to spray her and Takua down with water to cool them off. She seemed like nothing happened the day before.

I did notice Noma looked to maybe have an infection in one of her udders. I hope her udder is swollen only because Willow had stopped nursing when Noma went into the pen 24 hours ago.

Yeller was hanging out in the cool grass with the dogs this evening. He is so stinking cute.

Saverine was ready to eat tonight, so I think we are in the clear.

Mattie and Willow will not leave the pen where Noma is. They want to stay there with her.

Onyx was cute laying up on the table in front of the house. She was stretched out and relaxed. Jelly came home tonight, too.

I got some love from the dogs tonight. Pepper somehow got herself stuck under the porch tonight. It was so bad, Ronnie had to tear off the steps to the deck to get her out. She was tired after the ordeal.
