Normally, new chicks have to fight their way into the herd. It has been interesting to watch both clutches of baby chicks. The bigger of them have taken the younger ones under their wings and are staying with them to protect them. It is cute to see all 13 babies running around together. I do hope it continues since both the momma hens have left them. They seem too small for that to me, but I don’t know much about all of that. It’s definitely a new sight around the farm.
