So, my dear Noma I do believe is starting to feel better. She may be a bit sassy. I came home the other day from work and Ronnie was telling me Noma had been down and he went out to give her some supplements. He said she saw the drench gun and jumped right up. Today we had a few errands to run and when we left her and Pete and actually all the animals were laying out in the sun. When we got home, she was still in the same spot. So, I go to get the drench gun to give her the supplements. I said her name before I went to get the drench gun and I saw her trying to get up as I walked in the gate. She got right up. Apparently, she does not like the supplements. We had to get feed today for all 33 animals we have here now and I got some treats that have some supplements in them she needs. She actually ate them out of my hand. I’m not sure we are out of the woods with Noma yet, but she is better and she has an attitude which makes me like her more.

Updates
Sorry I haven’t posted in a bit. I have been so busy. I will give you a run down of animals. All of the chickens and roosters are doing fine. I have 2 chickens giving me eggs so I get 2 eggs a day. I don’t eat them so there’s that. The pigs all seem to be doing fine. It snowed again last weekend so we did some improvements to a pig shelter and they seem to love it. Romeo is doing better and better. I was losing hope for a little bit, but he seems to be doing well. Hercules and Lucky have been rubbing their scent on every little thing until the back of their heads are almost bald. Carlos is doing fine. Cracker Jack has gained so much weight since he has all of that grass to eat. I hope it comes off some in the summer. He doesn’t get his beloved peanuts like he once did since they don’t sell them like they do back home. Pete is getting friendlier. He at least comes closer to me and smells me but then usually backs up. Wonder if he doesn’t like the way I smell. Noma is doing considerably better. Ronnie saw her laying down yesterday and got the drench gun out for meds but he said she jumped up quickly when she saw that. I have only seen her down 2 times this week. I would say that’s progress. The dogs and cats are all doing well. It sure is an adventure around here.

Maggie
Maggie has not been the same since we moved. She has seemed depressed for some reason. I know she is getting older. She just hasn’t seemed happy. Today with all of the snow, that dog ran all over the place. She loves the snow. It made her happy today. I also figured out she was having a problem with on of her nails on the back leg. She has on dew claw and it grows back into her foot if not clipped. Apparently that had happened again and I wasn’t on top of it like normal with the move and the new job and all those other excuses I could give. In all honesty, I had not been checking on it like normal. So today I got it clipped, cleaned it up with peroxide and gave her antibiotics. She seems to be feeling much better after all of that is over. I need to get it together!!
Crazy cat
Oh Persia. Persia loves to get into weird spaces. The other morning I was getting ready for work. I got into the closet and I guess Persia followed me in there. I got home from work and did outside chores. I was doing stuff around the house. I noticed I had not seen Persia. She normally comes out of the bedroom as soon as I get home from work. I check the closet. Sure enough, she has been in the closet all day. She was just hanging out in the floor. She came out and just looked at me. Then she ran around the house like she had been in the closet all day. Poor girl. I felt so bad.

Noma
Noma has not had the best week. Sunday she was down and couldn’t get up. Monday she was up all day. Tuesday she went down early afternoon and was down all day and most of the night. Ronnie was able to give her meds and she was up the next morning. She got down again the next evening and was still in the same spot the next morning still down. A friend of mine mentioned some stuff to get, so Thursday Ronnie went and got some red cell, some wormer, some B12 and gave Noma all of that. He had given her antibiotics for a runny nose on Tuesday. Noma has been up and around ever since he gave her the meds. I have not seen her down at all the last 2 days. She may lay down to sleep in the barn or wherever she is but she has been up. I’m so grateful for this. It seems to be an improvement. Now to get her feet fixed. They are so bad.
Weather
Well, we have more snow coming in. Where did I move?? Good grief. It is supposed to start snowing again tonight. Ronnie and I worked on putting straw in houses and hay in the barn. Just making sure all of the animals will be warm and dry. The animals know when it’s supposed to snow or at least when the weather changes. Noma and Pete usually go away from the house and the barn during the day but they have stayed up by the barn all day. They were all in the barn when I came in tonight. The pigs were building their nests with new straw when I came in. They know when something is happening. I’m grateful those donkeys are in the barn with the rest of them and the pigs were settling in. I don’t worry about the chickens too much, I think George learned his lesson and I saw him in his house tonight before I came in. I will check in the morning to make sure he isn’t stranded in the snow again.

Praying for Noma
I’m telling you, since we got Noma and Pete, I have been working hard to help them. Noma is not a youngster and she really does have some stuff going on. I got a text from Kenzie earlier and a pic of her a Noma just relaxing. When I got home, Noma was trying to get up. A couple hours later she was still trying to get up and was completely exhausted. I brought her some water which she wanted no part in. Pete was trying to get her up. It’s really sad to watch. She did start having some nasal drainage so we gave her some meds. Yesterday she got into some sweet feed, my fault, and that does make her not feel well. I’m hoping that is all it is and tomorrow she will be better. I have talked with a friend who knows a farrier who literally lives down the road from me, so I’m hoping he can come look at her feet. Ronnie thinks she may have foundered and if that’s the case not much can be done but I still have hope. I want her to live longer so she can be happy longer. I’m holding out hope and I’m praying. Please help me with that. She got lots of love and attention tonight. I want her to get more of that.
