May 27, 2025

It was a cooler morning. I got to see Yeller and Athena before work.
It looked like rain again. The donkeys and goats were grazing away in the pasture. The horses were also eating hay with the clouds rolling in.
We did get 20 more bales of hay last night. That will last us for a bit. I am grateful we have been able to continue to do that. Be thankful for the big things and the small things in life, they are all important.
I did see all the cats.
Melody decided to lay her egg in the shop. The wheel barrow was turned over, so she could not lay under there.
The horses finally dumped over the water trough. They like to put their feet in the water trough to cool off. Today it turned over. I was able to clean it out and get it back upright.
Red is not feeling too well. Ronnie noticed him laying down on Saturday. Red does not normally do that. When I got home this afternoon, Red was up. When I went back out to feed and water, Red was laying down. I decided to keep an eye on him. When I finished feeding, I noticed Red was down again. I went over to check on him. He looks like his back right leg is bothering him. He did not want to get up. I left him alone for a few minutes.
I went over to check the pig water. Treat was walking back and forth like she was mad about something. Treat tried to lay down so I could pet her, but she was too far away. Gus took that moment to get my attention. They are so jealous of each other.
I watched Red lay down, like fully lay down. I was a little nervous.  He was not even paying attention to me yelling at him. I decided to walk down to where he was. He did sit up when I got closer, but he did not want to get up. I hugged him and loved on him. As I turned around, I saw the other donkeys and goats getting closer to me. I watched as Ned went over to Red and started nipping at him to get up. He did get up. It was amazing to see that. Find those friends who are going to get you up when you are down. Red did stay up for a while. When Ronnie got home, he looked at him and said the right back leg was swollen. I am sure him and another donkey got into it. He should be fine.
