July 16, 2025

It sure was a pretty morning. It was cloudy and cool. Those are the best mornings around here.
I had a new experience while in with the chicks. I bent down to put out the feed and add water to the bowls and one of the chicks jumped onto my back. I have been trying to get them to interact with me and now they are working on it. It makes me so happy. The chick jumping on me was totally unexpected but was hilarious.
The donkeys were all up so I could see them again this morning.
It has rained so much lately the fields have standing water in them. You do not see that in West Texas too often. We always need rain.
I did see Onyx and Yeller this afternoon, but no Athena. I know she has to be around here somewhere.
Rena and Annabeth are doing well. They are actually staying pretty cool. It looks like they are in a jungle because of how high the grass is. Neither one of them seem to mind it.
Alex let me lay across him and take a picture. He is such a chill cow. He let me sit on him, too. He is such a sweet boy.
The pigs were taking advantage of the mud holes. It is sure a hot day, but I will say, I am grateful it is not as hot as it has been in years past at this time.
There is so much green grass at this moment, that is so rare. The donkeys and goats are loving it.
Mattie and Willow were asking for my attention this afternoon as I was watering the pigs.
I saw the tiniest frog while I was watering. He was cute.
I went hunting for May. She was not in her normal spot in the shop. I could not find her anywhere near the shop. I finally found her in the pen with the little goats. For some reason a lot of the chickens like to be in with the little goats. They must have something calming about them. I did leave her alone and let her stay there.
Ursula had to be right up on me while I was trying to read a book. She is one needy cat. We all need someone who is always there for us.
