July 17, 2025

Well, I went in the chicken coop again this morning and the same thing happened. A chick jumped up on my back as I was filling up the water and giving them food. She did not want to get down, so as I raised up, she went to my arm and then my shoulder. I find that hilarious.
May was trying to get in with the fainting goats when I saw her, so I put her in the gate. She went right into the shelter and the goats must know they need to protect her. Tinkerbelle went right into the shelter with her. I find that cute so interesting.
I saw Onyx in the pen with the little goats. I have no idea where she was coming back from. Athena was waiting to go into the shop. Yeller was under the truck staying out of the sun. It was a humid morning.
Mattie and Willow were interacting with the other donkeys across the fence. They do that from time to time. One day I may have to put them all over into the pasture. They might like it over there. I do not want to do that right now, maybe another time.
I did cuddle with a chick. She may not have loved it, but I did.
Pedro was following me around. That grass is so high, they need to start eating it before it burns up. I am happy there is grass there for them. I did hand feed him some corn. He is so careful with me. He knows he is my baby. Those people you care about, when you show them, you care, you get a better response.
The chicks are growing so fast. I may have spoiled them too much though. There is so much feed on the ground in the chicken coop, and they refuse to eat it. They will not eat off the ground. Go figure.
Willow was sure watching the little goats eat. She is such a mess. She was not waiting patiently for me to feed them.
The horses got sprayed with the hose. They look forward to that on these hot days. I cannot say I blame them. It is hot. Sometimes I have to spray myself being out there just to make sure everyone has food and water.
The pigs were staying under the sunshade. It is cooler under there. Spam was so muddy, but she let me pet her. The other pigs were muddy, too. They have to have the mud to regulate their temperature, but I would think that the mud would be hot, too. I do not want to get in there and find out.
