July 29, 2025

Ronnie is out of town again. I got up early to feed and water. The animals do not seem to like for me to feed them in the mornings because I do it later than Ronnie does. They will be okay. They get fed. We do not always get what we want.
There were more chicks on top of me today. It made me happy. Sometimes the littlest things in life can bring you joy. I never thought it would be chicks flying up on me, but that is one of the things that makes me happy.
I loved on Yeller and Onyx. I did not think I would see Athena this morning, but I did see her.
The donkeys were trying to eat the grass on the other side of the fence. I have not seen them do that, but they were doing it today. The grass is not always greener on the other side of the fence.
The dogs were running around this evening. Sonny was in the backyard with them. Sonny has not been leaving the backyard very often anymore.
The grass in the pasture is starting to burn up. I knew it was going to happen, but it is amazing to see how fast that can happen. The temperatures really have been hot lately. The donkeys were toward the back of the property under a tree to stay cool. They are smart animals.
The pigs are hot. They were cooling off in the water as I was putting in fresh, cold water. I don’t blame them. They have to have their mud. I am happy to help them out.
The chicks are growing up quickly. They really are fun animals to be around.
Fred is still acting weird. I just do not know what to do for him. He is still fast and does not want me to catch him, so he is not too bad off.
Jasper let me pet on him while he was eating. He did not let me pet him when he was not busy eating.
I sprayed the horses down to cool them off. 4/5 love it. It seems to help them in the heat.
One of the sheep seems to be off a little. I am sure it is the heat, but I am going to have to watch him close.
For some reason Mattie is eating the devil’s claw. I have not seen him to that before, but he is doing it now.
Russ was smiling at me. That does not happen often, but I sure love to see it when he does smile at me.
I was trying to help Brutus shed his hair a little. He still has most of it. I also gave him belly rubs. Darla got jealous, so I rubbed her belly, too.
The cats were all home in the evening.
The night sky was sure pretty.
The chicks were back in the doghouse. They are so good. It only took me one time to put them all in there for them to realize that is where they go. Now, I am not sure what will happen when they get bigger and become free range. That part will be interesting.
