April 28, 2025

The cats were waiting on me as I went outside. That is not a new thing. They usually are there, but I am still grateful every day to see them. Be thankful for the big things and the smaller things in this life, both are important.
Buckwheat was wanting some petting. That is not actually normal. He wanted me to scratch his head. It does feel as though he is growing some horns on his head, so he probably itches.
Noma looked like she had decided not to get up today. I understand that feeling, especially on a Monday. It just so happens Mattie did not want to get up either. When I saw him, I had to stop and laugh. He was definitely relaxed, but with his ears up. I did give the three donkeys a little bit of hay this morning.
The morning was beautiful as usual. Makes a great start to the day.
The storms were sure looking like they were coming in this afternoon. It did not end up raining though, of course it went around us. That's not new either. I was in a hurry to get things done this evening in case it did rain.
Lucky ate out of my hand. That has been happening more. We have had that goat for 6 years or something and he has never been friendly except when he was on his death bed a couple years ago. I have learned if you have food, he will decide quickly to be friendly. I might need to say here to not let people use you. Lucky I will allow it.
The pigs had all been playing in the mud. The mud hole in the one pen is looking better. Those pigs are hard at work to get it ready for the summer. I am so glad. I do not want to have to go dig in the mud for them, but I would do it if I had to.
Somehow Spots is now limping. I am pretty sure I witnessed Chief kick her and then she started limping. Poor girl. I think she will be okay, but she is in pain.
Ronnie came home tonight to put some hay out for the horses and to bring me some feed for the goats, sheep, and pigs. I could have done some of that, but I am thankful he did it for me. It really meant a lot.
Mattie and Willow were happy to see Ronnie. They came right over to give him some attention.
Alex let me literally lay on top of him. Jasper will not have anything to do with me right now, but Alex will. In Ronnie's words, Jasper was a bottle baby and is now not allowing humans to be around him, but the other one will let you do whatever as long as it does not involve getting in a trailer. He is right about that.
