Fred was still in the shop. He still looks so rough, but he is hanging in there, so I am going to continue to do what I can for him. If he is going to fight for life, I will continue to fight with him. Keep moving one foot forward, even when you think you cannot do it.
I see I have 2 regular chicks who are the first ones to crawl on me. I think I have decided to name them Lovey and Ollie. I like those names. Now if I can just remember who is who. That will be the tough part.
Lovey did fly out of the coop. She was not real excited about going back in, but she did. I did have to threaten Athena's life if she got any closer to that chick.
May was in the fainting goat pen. I know she is safe there.
We had a leak in the faucet outside and the plumbers had to come out and fix it. I am so grateful they were able to come out so quickly. Ursula did run out of the house without anyone knowing it while the plumbers were there. I went out to throw away some trash and she came running toward me crying. She was out there long enough to get so tired she just laid down and fell asleep. Maybe she learned her lesson.
May was up walking around today. Her being up and moving around makes me so happy. She is doing much better. She will never be the same, but she is better.
Yeller was up against the house staying cool in this West Texas heat. I know it is miserable for me; I am sure it can be miserable for them, too. He did not seem to mind too much.
The chicks are all getting so big. It won't be long until I have to release them from the coop and let them do what they want to.
Fred got out of the shop. I was terrified Sonny would get to him, so I chased after him and got him back into the shop so I could protect him. May I did the same thing with. I want them to get better before they are out with all the other chickens, especially Sonny.
