I had a good start to the morning; I got to see all the cats this morning, and it was such a beautiful start to the day. After all the stuff that happened yesterday, I am still so upset.
I also got to see a hummingbird using the new feeder. It was like the hummingbirds knew I got a new one and to come on down. It was a beautiful sight to see.
I did see Snowflake checking on the chicks in the coop. I am really glad to see that.
Athena is still being mean to Yeller. Yeller cowards down to her. I hate that so much. Do not let someone make you feel like you have to coward down to them. She did allow him to eat with them, which is good. They better let him eat. They do not want to have to deal with me. I picked Athena up and cuddled her. She hated every minute of it. She needs to learn to be nice.
Fred is still hanging in there. I am shocked. That rooster looks so bad, but he is still making it.
Athena was watching those chicks a little too closely. I had to get her with the water hose to make her stop watching them. I am nervous to let those chicks out for that very reason. Normally chicks around here have a momma hen who protects them, these chicks do not have that, so I am more protective of them. There were several who flew out today. That means they are almost ready. Just like our children, they may be ready to go, even when we are not ready to let them go.
The other animals are doing well.
On this day 24 years ago, an attack was made on America. Our country banded together because of the tragedy. This year, unity could not be further from the truth. It is so sad to witness what is happening.
