September 28, 2025

I went out to feed the chicks. I saw May wondering around looking for food, so I made sure to take care of her first.
I knew it was time to let the chickens out. I knew they were ready, even though I might not have been. It needed to happen. So, I let them out. They were confused, but they started exploring and they were fine. The cats did not even bother them. Thank goodness.
As I was letting the chicks out, Ronnie was on the lookout for coyotes. The donkeys are good to alert us if there is danger and apparently there was a coyote out in the pasture. The donkeys ended up chasing it off.
I got to see all the donkeys by the fence later in the day.
I still had to cuddle with Gidget. She tolerated me for a few minutes and then went on her way. Lovey also gave me some attention. I was afraid they would not let me pet them anymore, but that was not the case today.
I did watch out the window multiple times to check on them and each time they were fine. There is nothing wrong with being cautious and wanting to prevent a catastrophic event. I may have had to save a few from the backyard to stay away from Daisy, just in case.
The other animals were all doing fine. Willow and Mattie allowed me to pet them today.
One of the chicks ended up in with the goats. She was so frantic to get back to the other chickens. I finally got her over there and she was okay.
The evening was so beautiful.
I got all the chicks back into the chicken coop for the night. It was not hard at all. They seemed ready to go to bed.
