Chicken Pecks

I went out to gather eggs like I do every day. The hens do not lay as well in the heat. I went to the barn and some of the hens were still sitting on some eggs. I was thinking they might be broody but I don’t think that’s what it was. I think they were just too hot to move. I don’t blame them, this heat is brutal. I went to grab some eggs under a hen and of course I got pecked. I know that is always a possibility and I had to laugh. These chickens are something.
