Lonely Chick

The last batch of eggs that were hatched only one survived. He or she, but I’m leaning toward a he tries to stay with his mom, Suzie Q. The chick is getting more independent and mom is away from him more. I hate that the other chicks didn’t survive and I hate even more that he is walking around alone more. He seems lonely at times, but is hanging out with the cows more since he is by himself. He still sleeps on the ground with Suzie Q at night since he is too little to fly up on the roost just yet. The other chickens do peck on him a bit since he is the new kid on the farm. He has survived this long though. He has found a friendship with the cows. We will see how this story unfolds as we go.
