Happy New Year!! I know I’m behind, like really behind on posting about the ends and outs of the farm in 2022. New Year’s Day was a busy day with all the prep for the cold weather coming in that night. I had bought straw for the pigs. I had filled the goat’s shelter with extra hay they were not eating. Ronnie had went to go get extra hay for the animals so we could feed them more to help keep them warm. After he came back, he thought it would be beneficial to add pine shavings to the barn for the horses, the cow shelter and the lean to for our old donkeys. The donkeys and goats on the other side decided they would dig themselves holes to sleep in. That was pretty amazing. So, Ronnie went back to the store and ended up buying a pallet of pine shavings. We spent the rest of the day fixing shelters for the cold. We saw the clouds coming in and the wind pick up. I always worry about the animals in the cold. I want us and them to be as prepared as possible for the cold. Worry is not good for them or for me. Worry brings us down and does not help what we are needing to accomplish. Get rid of the worry. Prepare as you should and there is no need to worry. I have difficulty with this, I think most of us do.
